I’m meant to be finishing a draft of my new novel and doing my taxes, so I cleared the decks, rolled up my sleeves and set to work… making these lamps!

Seriously, what do you think? I rather like them.
They’re made with this incredible haul of vintage lingerie I happened to stumble on during a recent drive-through visit to Bristol. Then I sourced all the parts and wired them myself. Yes really.
I’m naming each one and giving her a hair-curling, Miss Universe pageant-worthy back-story and THEN my plan is to hang them on the ceiling of my sitting room so it feels like I’ve always got a group of jolly, scantily-clad girlfriends over for gossip and drinks. That way I can never be lonely.
How’s that for a solid life plan?
Your go! Please show (and/or tell) your weirdest, most brilliant, hilarious, horrendous, bizarre and out-right-mad creative procrastinations, in the comments below. Then I can pour them and we can natter-on about it and distract ourselves some more.
Myrtle’s my favourite.
Hi Leah! I baked bread my entire first year of university. Never since. Felt very Martha Stewart, like I was doing something good while not reading political theory.
Thanks Leah for sharing the inspiring images. In this cold January we all need the presence of others - not just as an idea or hope, but as something tangible. I like your different shapes and how these vintage items demonstrate so much potential - you've brought them back to life! Who'd have thought this possible? What would the former owners of these items say? Have you spoken to them?
