Oh this is as comforting as opening a crisp Saturday G&M (circa 2004) at a coffee shop to read your column. We are the same age, life is hard, perimenopause is often too much. Glad to hear you’re doing well and paying subscribers have increased.
This fellow columnist salutes your decision to add a calendar-esque structure to your written thoughts. I'm in the process (long wished for) to self publish my previous columns as a legacy for family&friends. During editing I have found much of me that has changed, and much that has stayed the same. I have been enjoying your short video monologues. I like the visual reporter style (correspondents in the field are a source of fascination). I hate podcasts, resist interview formats (talking heads ugh!) but like you I digest the cranial nutrition found in words on the printed page. You brought me to Substack, a place I now share some of my work, so I thank you for that introduction. I value predictability! See you next week Leah.
love the cemetery setting and how very pretty you look. what a super message and how very lucky to be able to read all your warbles. you are my inspiration
When I get out of this PT hospital, I will be writing in a more orderly fashion. A fractured sacrum put me here. I fell on my derrière. Luckily I live in France where treatment abd health care in general are free. Hope you are having a terrific day.
So nice to hear your voice! You’re looking so much like your mom. I’ve enjoyed reading what you have to say and look forward to the weekly essays. Take care, Leah.
Elegant presentation. Thanks. I like getting to know you. I’ll be reading you on Fridays. Keep up the good work please. Cheers, Suzanne White (US author living in France ) 💋
As someone who read your column for 17 years, I look forward to your weekly musings❤️

Fun-great video and inspiring to this fledgling writer, too.
