My parents used to have big parties. And I still remember sneaking downstairs and impromptu moments like this with their friends. I think it helped my people skills. So lovely x

What a lovely piece! I'm having summer party on the 24th at Lula Lounge in Toronto — my 90th birthday. It's a benefit for a musicians' benevolent fund, and all 350 tickets are sold. I just wish Maud was coming to my event!

Summertime and Christmas time we can slip back into magic and be young forever. What a magical moment. I love Mr. Flohil's message. Happy Birthday! I was out last night in Vancouver and it felt like a party on Granville St. Not always a pretty place, but on a warm summer evening everyone seemed very alive and happy to be together. Thanks for your writing, Leah. Weekends used to bring good reads in weekend editions, harder to find nowadays.

I know what it feels like to be idolized Leah. By the right person, it has given me the sense of being exulted w/o the need to shuffle my feet and stammer, "Oh Gosh!" I read your work in my inbox today and by happenstance a former student of mine, just turned 30, dropped a digital note saying she'd been thinking of me after reading my blog and wanted to catch me up on her life with photos and everything. I felt like a king!

"...Time folding in on itself, but in a not scary way..." this share in its entirety. Thank you for letting me be a part; I experienced the party as did you: calmly familiar, settling, and a gift rich with the true gems of being a human on this planet, female to female, woman to woman. Thank you for letting me be your date mate too.
